Python Number Pattern 58

Here`s a program that prints the above number pattern using Python Programming:

example.py
Copied
Copy To Clipboard
for i in range(1, 6):
    for j in range(5, 0, -1):
        if(i == j):
            print(j, end="")
        else:
            print("", end=" ")
    for k in range(2, 6):
        if(i == k):
            print(k, end="")
        else:
            print("", end=" ")
    print()

for i in range(4, 0, -1):
    for j in range(5, 0, -1):
        if(i == j):
            print(j, end="")
        else:
            print("", end=" ")
    for k in range(2, 5):
        if(i == k):
            print(k, end="")
        else:
            print("", end=" ")
    print()

💻 Testing the Program

When you run the above program, it will print the following output:

Output
     1
    2 2
   3   3
  4     4
 5       5
  4     4
   3   3
    2 2
     1

🧠 How the Program Works

Let's break down the logic behind the code:

  1. The first outer loop runs for values of i from 1 to 5 (inclusive).
  2. Inside the outer loop, there are three nested loops:
    1. The first inner loop (for j in range(5, 0, -1):) runs in reverse from 5 to 1. It compares i with j and prints the value of j if they are equal, or a space if they are not.
    2. The second inner loop (for k in range(2, 6):) runs from 2 to 5 (inclusive). It compares i with k and prints the value of k if they are equal, or a space if they are not.
    3. After the two inner loops, a newline character is printed (print()) to move to the next line.
  3. The first outer loop will execute 5 times, generating the first half of the pattern.
  4. After the first half is generated, the program enters the second outer loop.
  5. The second outer loop runs for values of i from 4 to 1 (inclusive).
  6. Inside the second outer loop, there are two nested loops:
    1. The first inner loop (for j in range(5, 0, -1):) runs in reverse from 5 to 1, just like in the first outer loop. It compares i with j and prints the value of j if they are equal, or a space if they are not.
    2. The second inner loop (for k in range(2, 5):) runs from 2 to 4 (inclusive), one step less than the corresponding loop in the first half. It compares i with k and prints the value of k if they are equal, or a space if they are not.
    3. After the two inner loops, a newline character is printed (print()) to move to the next line.
  7. The second outer loop will execute 4 times, generating the second half of the pattern.

💯 Tips for Enhancement:

Explore the versatility of this pattern by adjusting its parameters. Whether you increase or decrease the size, tweak the spacing, or modify the characters used, each change opens up a world of possibilities, allowing you to customize and create your unique visual effects.

✔ Conclusion:

Creating visually appealing patterns is not only a fun endeavour but also a great way to enhance your programming or design skills. We hope this tutorial has inspired you to explore the world of creative coding. Share your creations with us, and let your imagination run wild!
