JavaScript Number Pattern 58

Here`s a program that prints the above number pattern using JavaScript Programming:

example.html
Copied
Copy To Clipboard
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<body>

<script>
var i, j, k, m, n;
// First Part
for(i=1; i<=5; i++)
{
 for(j=5; j>=1; j--)
 {
  if(i == j)
   document.write(j);
  else
   document.write("&nbsp;&nbsp;");
 }
 for(k=2; k<=5; k++)
 {
  if(i == k)
   document.write(k);
  else
   document.write("&nbsp;&nbsp;");
 }
 document.write("<br>");
}
// Second Part
for(i=4; i>=1; i--)
{
 for(j=5; j>=1; j--)
 {
  if(i == j)
   document.write(j);
  else
   document.write("&nbsp;&nbsp;");
 }
 for(k=2; k<=5; k++)
 {
  if(i == k)
   document.write(k);
  else
   document.write("&nbsp;&nbsp;");
 }
 document.write("<br>");
}
</script>
</body>
</html>

💻 Testing the Program

When you run the above program, it will print the following output:

Output
    1
   2 2
  3   3
 4     4
5       5
 4     4
  3   3
   2 2
    1

🧠 How the Program Works

Let's break down the logic behind the code:

  1. Variable Declarations: The variables i, j, k, m, and n are declared.
  2. First Part (Top Half of Pattern):
    • The first outer loop (for(i=1; i<=5; i++)) runs from i=1 to i=5, iterating over the rows of the top half of the pattern.
    • The first nested loop (for(j=5; j>=1; j--)) runs from j=5 to j=1, iterating over the columns of the pattern. It prints the value of j if i is equal to j, otherwise, it prints two non-breaking spaces (&nbsp;&nbsp;).
    • The second nested loop (for(k=2; k<=5; k++)) runs from k=2 to k=5, iterating over the columns of the pattern. It prints the value of k if i is equal to k, otherwise, it prints two non-breaking spaces.
    • After each inner loop pair (j and k), a line break <br> is added to move to the next row.
  3. Second Part (Bottom Half of Pattern):
    • The second outer loop (for(i=4; i>=1; i--)) runs from i=4 to i=1, iterating over the rows of the bottom half of the pattern.
    • This part is similar to the first part, where two nested loops run similarly as in the first part to generate the pattern. The difference is that the i values are decreasing, and the pattern is mirrored.
  4. HTML Output:

    The document.write() function is used to generate the pattern on the HTML page. The pattern consists of rows of numbers and spaces, forming a symmetric pattern resembling a triangle.

💯 Tips for Enhancement:

Explore the versatility of this pattern by adjusting its parameters. Whether you increase or decrease the size, tweak the spacing, or modify the characters used, each change opens up a world of possibilities, allowing you to customize and create your unique visual effects.

✔ Conclusion:

Creating visually appealing patterns is not only a fun endeavour but also a great way to enhance your programming or design skills. We hope this tutorial has inspired you to explore the world of creative coding. Share your creations with us, and let your imagination run wild!
