C++ Star Pattern 1

Here`s a program that prints the above star pattern using C++ Programming:

example.cpp
Copied
Copy To Clipboard
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;

int main() {
  int i, j;
  for (i = 1; i <= 5; i++) {
    for (j = 1; j <= i; j++)
      cout << "*";
    cout << "\n";
  }
  return 0;
}

💻 Testing the Program

When you run the above program, it will print the following output:

Output
*
**
***
****
*****

🧠 How the Program Works

Let's break down the logic behind the code:

  1. The program starts by including the necessary header file <iostream>, which provides input/output stream functionality in C++. The line using namespace std; tells the compiler to use the std namespace, which contains various standard C++ functions and objects.
  2. The main() function is the entry point of the program. It is where the execution of the program begins and ends. The return type of main() is int, indicating that the program should return an integer value.
  3. Inside the main() function, two integer variables i and j are declared. These variables will be used for loop counters.
  4. The outer for loop initializes i to 1 and continues as long as i is less than or equal to 5. It increments i by 1 in each iteration.
  5. Inside the outer loop, there is an inner for loop. It initializes j to 1 and continues as long as j is less than or equal to i. It increments j by 1 in each iteration.
  6. Inside the inner loop, the statement cout << "*"; is used to output an asterisk (*) to the console. This statement will be executed i number of times in each iteration of the outer loop. As i increases, the number of asterisks printed in each row increases.
  7. After the inner loop finishes, the statement cout << "\n"; is used to output a newline character. This will move the cursor to the next line, creating a new line for the next iteration of the outer loop.
  8. The outer loop continues until i becomes greater than 5. At that point, the program exits the loop and reaches the return 0; statement, which indicates a successful termination of the program.
  9. Finally, the program exits the main() function and terminates.

💯 Tips for Enhancement:

Explore the versatility of this pattern by adjusting its parameters. Whether you increase or decrease the size, tweak the spacing, or modify the characters used, each change opens up a world of possibilities, allowing you to customize and create your unique visual effects.

✔ Conclusion:

Creating visually appealing patterns is not only a fun endeavour but also a great way to enhance your programming or design skills. We hope this tutorial has inspired you to explore the world of creative coding. Share your creations with us, and let your imagination run wild!
